The Geographical Position |
| The
Caribbean Archipelago is a group of small and big islands in the body
of the warm Caribbean Sea. It is situated between the
two continents – South and North Americas – and occupies the
area of about 2,754,000 square kilometers. The Caribbean region was of
interest to European and American tourists since the Age of Exploration
due to its favorable position in the ocean. The exotic nature and tropical
climate attract lots of visitors in our days as well. Beach
rentals are
in demand today. And besides long ago probably in fifteenth century there
were found gold and silver, therefore that place was always in the center
of people’s attention. Many had a goal to rich and bring gold to
their countries. Even many countries were fighting to conquer the Caribbean
territory, which became an important trading post after its discovery by
Christopher Columbus. This area was a nice place for shipping and transporting
valuable cargo from the Caribbean to Europe and it also made this area
to be an object if interest. This area is popular due to beautiful azure sea with white sand beaches, tropical forests with rare animals, birds and reptiles. Anyone who is fond of hiking can find mountains with caves where he feels like a pirate looking for a treasure or speleologist investigating ruins of ancient civilization. Those who are crazy for diving can get the whole underwater world with its coral reefs, diverse fish and other inhabitants of the sea. Beach rentals are at their service any time. Others perhaps will admire of waterfalls, springs, and paths. Tourism and sport are very spread here. Each year many tourists, like my friend and I, are heading the Caribbean area to have a rest and see the wonders of this miraculous spot of the world. |
